Gazetteer Review

Utilize your LSG and ASD better ! A well developed gazetteer brings significant improvements to the planning and coordination of activities on the highway. 

ISM have had many years of experience examining and improving gazetteers. This might be simply a 'health check' of the ASD, providing options to bring immediate and cost effective improvements, to a full traffic sensitive review and update, working with you to improve the control you have on your network.

Training and coaching

A key component of any good service delivery is having a team who have in-depth detailed knowledge of the legislation and  a comprehensive operational perspective on different working methods and traffic management. Additionally you want your staff to function as one; we make sure that not only are they compliant with current regulations, and industry practice, but they also act coherently as a team. It's a great opportunity for CPD, ensuring all staff have comprehensive understanding of everything from the legislative background to street works through H&S, compliance and enforcement on site, risks, fine, charges, prosecutions etc.

Permit scheme evaluation and audit

All permit schemes must be evaluated. ISM has plenty of experience using all the main SWR suppliers (and of course Street Manager), and understand the problems and niggles with data management and consistency for KPIs, TPIs and your local operational measures. We can help you really understand what is going on behind your scheme, and help show you what useful data actually means for your service delivery and how you, and your works promoter colleague, can improve across the board.

Lane Rental

The next big thing for many authorities is to integrate LR into their permit schemes to help expedite its duties under NRSWA and TMA. ISM has helped authorities assess their Lane Rental options and opportunities, produced viability reports to help Members decide whether to go ahead with LR and then assisted those authorities take that next step.
